Breakfast: Sugar snap Peas, Rice, Milk, Egg

Lunch: (w/o picture): Lemon juice chicken, turnip, golden beets, pasta

Dinner: Lemon juice chicken, turnip, golden beets, rice

Yup, I'm getting lazy with the food. But enjoying the simplicity, to be honest. I'm noticing I'm becoming more sensitive to the sweetness in fruit as time passes--the grapes I just ate for my evening snack were fantastic.

Thought of the day: if I gain muscle %, but lose muscle in kg (i.e., muscle% * weight), is it still "gaining muscle?"

  1. I would say yes, you are gaining muscle. Not sure but would guess that you're not actually losing muscle in kg if you are simply measuring it by muscle %*weight, its just your overall weight going down due to losing other bad stuff, so your muscle mass is either staying the same or going up....very technical analysis, I know....will see what Obi-wan says.....

  2. Yes, Jason is right on the money here. You'll inevitably lose some muscle along with the fat as the body will just use up whatever is laying around, but the key is losing LESS muscle than fat. In that sense, you are "gaining muscle" as it is becoming a greater percentage of your body composition. This period will pass soon as the fat burning really gets going. Good stuff man!

  3. Being lazy with food is awesome -- one of the great things about NOT cooking (just doing a big steam) is really, REALLY being able to taste the food. As you are noticing with fruit, so you will notice with veggies; sweetness of a carrot, tartness of spinach, etc. Enjoy what actual food tastes like and you will never go back!

  4. Hmm.. Carrots and spinach sound good actually. I've been buying mostly oddball veggies to force myself to learn what they are/how to cook them (you're right, steaming seems to work every time).

Time to get back to basics!
